senior states day 2 and 3 update

Please see attachments below regarding this weekend. These include marshaling lists for all events. Please don’t be panicked by the number of entries in each event, most clubs just enter everyone in everything. Also as per usual, all teams are not final, we may make changes on the day due to a number of situations. Marshaling will open from 7am in the club rooms, which will have to be done by all competitors, not team managers, or one person marshaling for a bunch of people.

Events are scheduled to kick off from 8am, so we will need everyone on the beach by 7am, to ensure we have enough time to marshall and warm up.

Also attached is the overall point score where we currently sit in 9th place, but not far behind a bunch of teams.

The other attachments include the final circular and programs for day two and 3.

Meals will be available from 5:30pm on Sunday and we do ask if people could book, to give our kitchen an idea of how many are coming. We will aim to start presentations around 7:30pm

Semaphore SLSC Footy Tipping

Yes the Semaphore SLSC Footy Tipping Competition is on again this season. Cost to enter remains at $50.00 per person & must be paid in full by the 3rd round of the AFL season. Obviously the more people that enter, the greater the prize pool will be. There will be prizes for those in 1st, 2nd & 3rd placing at the end of the season, as well as a prize for the tipster who comes 6th last. Prize money will be finalised once all money has been received. As an added bonus if you put your selections in Thursday night over the bar at the club you receive a free drink (pint of keg beer or a glass of wine or a soft drink).

Full list of the competition rules will be given to those that enter the competition. If you are keen to be the best AFL tipster in the club & want bragging rights over other club members, please either put your name on the Footy Tipping Entry Form on the club’s upstairs notice board, or contact Chris Mahney atchris.mahney@cicaustralia.com.au prior to Tuesday 22nd March 2016.

Boats Corner

South Port Classic – Excellent effort by those teams that turned up. The racing format was everybody was racing all the other crews, with crew successively knocked out in the rounds based on points plus age group races and finals at the end.  All the teams did exceptionally well with special mention to the U23s with a ring in from Glenelg won the U23 finals and the JACCOs went all the way through the ten races to the final of four teams which were all A teams bar them. They also came away with the reserves winner for the day. Well done

Note the time honoured tradition is that the boaties will do Saturday Patrol so that the Seniors can compete at states is Saturday 19th March – We will pack the boats for Saturday after Patrol for States on Sunday. Please provide Wiery or I names for Patrol.

States are at Southport Sunday 20th, all teams are racing and we are also going in the lifesaver relay and surfboat relay. 630am start from the Club again.

Nippers Weekly Update

Hi Everyone,

This week will see our club championship run (Under 7-Under 13)  on Saturday during our training session. This will be like a mini carnival for all age groups and our male and female winners of each event will be presented with a medal at the conclusion of training. I would encourage all competitors to have fun and be the best they can be. We anticipate to start at our normal starting time.

Senior Club championship will also be held on Saturday, however they are starting early as they have a training session planned for Saturday afternoon down at Middleton in preparation for the Senior Carnival on Sunday.

Our order of new skull caps have arrived and will be available on Saturday for purchase if you need a new one, also Hi-Vis tops must not be faded and in good order and condition for state titles, if in doubt please speak to me or your age group manager.

Congratulations to all those who competed at Glenelg last weekend and many thanks those assisted in setting up and packing up after the carnival.
