Proficiency information for the 2020/21 season

Hello everyone,

We are trying some new things this season to make things a bit easier and to get through our proficiencies a bit quicker. Please see the attached flyer about dates for proficiencies this season.

Please make sure you are financial and that your online proficiencies have been completed.

There will be information coming out later about SRC to Bronze Course and new Bronze Course and also IRB Crew and Driver Courses.

Thanks everyone,
Andrew

Back on the beach!

It was great to see so many Nippers on the beach enjoying the beautiful weather at the 1st Nipper training for 2020/21.

If you have not yet made it back, or are new to Nippers and would like to give it a try, then head down the Semaphore SLSC at 12:45pm this Saturday.

Further information on our Come and Try Program is available at https://semaphoreslsc.com.au/nippers-come-and-try/

Saturday’s canteen is now open for brekkie

The canteen is back and now open for breakfast from 9:30am.

Come up to the club after seniors training and enjoy a bacon and egg roll or the big Sema4 brekkie. Click here to view the full morning menu.

This week, the canteen will move downstairs after Nipper training, serving delicious snacks to satisfy all those hungry mouths after an afternoon on the beach. This week’s special: pulled beef rolls. Click here to view the full lunch menu.

The canteen is open to members and the public.

The summer season of patrols has kicked off

Our patrols took to the beach on the weekend for the first time this season.

First aid course – 1st November

North Haven SLSC are looking to run a First Aid course on Sunday 1st November – 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The course will be run through First in Sports First Aid – but it is exactly the same course and the same price as that offered by Surf Life Saving SA; for members that is $100. The accreditation you would receive is accepted by surf lifesaving.

If you need to do your first aid as part of your bronze award you should go through SLSSA because they are offering the same course to those doing their bronze for only $50.

Members of the public pay $170 at both.

At the moment North Haven SLSC are wanting to gauge how many people are interested in doing the course. They need a minimum of 12 people and a maximum of 20.

If you are interested in doing this course please contact Andrew Edwards at patrols@semaphoreslsc.com.au  or Elaine Farmer from North Haven SLSC at elaine.farmer@outlook.com
