Member’s Draw Update From Carmel
This weeks Members Draw is Thursday January 22nd between 6.30-7.30pm. Prize is $250 and you must be present at time of draw to win.

Pat’s Juniors Update
A big thanks to everyone who made our carnival a huge success last weekend. It was a fantastic effort from everyone and again on behalf of the Board of Management Thank you.

A reminder regarding First Aid Training
Reminder:
Accredited First Aid Training will be conducted at the club on Sunday February the 1st. The cost to SLSSA Members is only $75 less than half what you would pay through any other provider. The course will be conducted over one full day but you will be expected to have completed a workbook prior to attending. There are still places left so if you have not notified of your intent and you are interested in undertaking this course please confirm your attendance with me ASAP so I can arrange to have workbooks issued to all participants.
Juniors Carnival on this Sunday at Semaphore
Help is still urgently needed for the junior’s carnival this Sunday January 18 at the Semaphore Surf Life Saving Club. Please could anybody with tome available call Pat on 0419 816 911.

Champion Lifesaver/Champion Patrol
Nominations are now being called for both Champion Patrol and Champion Lifesaver.
Both events are to be held on the same dates: –
Theory and Resus – Thursday 29th January at Surf Central – 2 Barcoo Rd West Beach. Isolation closes at 6pm.
Practical – Saturday 31st January at Grange SLSC. Competition for Champ Patrol to start at 8am with Champ Lifesaver to follow at approximately 10am.

The Semaphore Surf Life Saving Club bistro is looking for a friendly, bubbly, well presented Junior with a professional Customer service attitude to join our team.
Duties will initially include assisting in the kitchen with cleaning and some food preparation with the possibility of progressing to serving customers, taking orders, making coffee and handling cash.
This is a casual position where shifts will be rostered.

Upcoming Events
As we head into the second half of the 2014/15 season there are a number of events other than carnivals still to go before we reach State Titles for Masters (7/8 March), Juniors (21/22 March) and Seniors (15/28/29 March).
- Champion Lifesaver is to be held on Thursday 29th January (theory) and Saturday 31st January (practical). Sean McKenzie will begin training all those keen to enter this event this Saturday (10th Jan) at 1.30pm upstairs in the club. Champ Lifesaver is open to competitors in U14 (with SRC) and above. Sean will arrange additional (separate) training times for the U14 group and those seniors competing at the conclusion of this first training session.
- Club Champs are to be held on Saturday 14th February. This season Club Champs for Junors, Seniors and Masters will all be held on this day. More information regarding times/program etc. to follow but please save this date. There will be a social event at the club to celebrate this day from late afternoon/into the evening.
- R&R State Championships are to be held on Saturday 21st February (please note date change from Sunday 1st March as previously advertised by SLSSA). Further information to follow but now is the time to make sure you have your team and coach organised and that training is underway.
