Boardies Day, Thursday 1st December

After the success of boardies day in November last year, Surf SA is pleased to let you know that they will be running it again this year, on Thursday 1st December to celebrate the first day of Summer (and also recognise National Water Safety Day).

West Lakes Shore and Largs schools are both already on board, so reach out to any other schools and businesses you’re involved with.

The date set is THURSDAY 1st DECEMBER.

As Surf SA implemented last year, they have developed the platform for clubs to be able to conduct their own fundraising efforts on boardies day as well. Last year, they had 2 clubs really get behind the day, raising ~$1,500 for each of their clubs, which was a fantastic outcome. They’d love to see even more clubs get behind it this year, and smash the fundraising record further!

The Raisley platform allows users to sign up and create their own fundraising page. As part of this, those that sign up can nominate a specific club (or the state as a whole) to fundraise for. For those that do not want to sign up and create an account, and just want to make a one-off donation, they can do this too and use the comments box to specify a club if they wish.

You can check out the website here:

Like the last event, they have a suite of great resources to help clubs and members of the public get behind the day and put on a great event. These are all available of the resources page of the website: https://boardies-day-south-australia.raisely.com/resources

To support the event at a state level, they have some great PR opportunities in the works, as well as social and other digital communications. They have setup the new platform to provide a great avenue for your clubs to get behind the fundraising opportunity yourselves. To support and assist you, they are providing this at no cost to your club – so they encourage you and your members to get involved, have fun with it and raise some funds for your club.

To get involved, all the information you need is contained on the website. Surf SA encourage you to channel all fundraising efforts through the site, so they can keep track of the total tally and proudly promote the state wide effort. When encouraging your members and local businesses or schools to get involved, they suggest that you get them to use the sign up form (rather than the direct donation button), as this will allow them to specify the club they want to fundraise for. Once all fundraising for the event has been donated, they will extract reports from the system and remit funds raised to your club, where a club was specified. Surf SA expect to complete this by mid December.

Lets get on board and get as many schools and businesses involved as we can!
