Training times for boats this week

Monday – Wednesday 5-6.30pm. U19 and U 23 (regos) plus A Crew members
WACO crew Tuesday 5.30 till 6.30 ( regos)
Ladies Thursday 5-6.00pm
Sunday 9.30 am all crews we will sort out all training times so as to suit all involved and we still need to sort out the U 23 Female crew so all ladies are welcome down Sunday morning and have a go.

Boatie Meeting Wrap Up

Below is a wrap up of what was discussed at the Boatie Meeting held last week for all those who were unable to attend but are interested in possibly becoming a Boatie.

“Early Sunday Morning” Down South Training Planned – stay tuned for details

 

Boat Clean Up and Sausage Sizzle:

Sunday the 17th of August at 10am. Please come down and give us a hand to get things ready for the season ahead.

 

Sweeps Rowers Course:

23rd and 24th of August, held at Southport SLSC. Anyone who is interested please contact Steve Sims. Remember we need more sweeps!

 

Sweep Accreditation:

All sweeps are required to complete Level One Coaching Course, please refer to ARSL Website for details.

 

Robe Carnival:

Competition 29th and 30th of November. Please keep this weekend free. Planning to travel down on Friday the 28th. Accommodation and food etc to be organised by club. Further details to come.

 

Aussie Titles:

In 2015 we are hoping to put in Open, Under 23 and Under 19 crews. Please let Steve Sims know if you are interested.

 

Helmets:

The wearing of helmets is compulsory from this season forward. The club will purchase new helmets to ensure all rowers are appropriately protected.

ARSL Membership:

We would love to see all Semaphore rowers become Members of ARSL SA. Cost of membership is $10 per person. Forms to be handed out by Steve Sims over next month or so. Please consider.

 

Boaties Function:

Pending Approval from BOM we are hoping to host a club function on the 25th of October. Anyone wanting to help with ideas regarding format please contact Lib Robbins 0418849854

 

Potential Rowers:

Boaties for the 2014/15 Season

Boaties meeting Sunday 10 th of August at 11.00 am SHARP meeting is to see who is interested in rowing for season 2014/2015.
Meeting will cover:
1) who is serious
2) when to start training
3) Robe trip 29/11/2014
4) Australian titles ( who wants to compete)
5) COMMITMENT
6) New BOAT
7) HELPERS
This meeting is open to all members of the club interested in rowing boats which by far is the most organised competition for Surf LIfe Saving in SA

Senior Surf Sports Committee

The Senior Surf Sports Committee are meeting tonight from 6.30-8pm (at the latest) to discuss our winter training program and the upcoming State Pool Rescue Championships. If you are keen to be involved with our committee (in any capacity) please join us at this meeting. We would particularly like a rep from the Masters group to join so we ensure all are included in planning. Any members who are using the gym facilities in the club rooms must remember the requirements expected from you.
You must ensure you are signing in and out of the gym every time you use it and ensure the gym is tidy at all times.
Please remember only members who are financial and have been through an induction are allowed to use the gym facilities.

Swim Training Wednesday Nights

Trent Bampton will continue to run swim training at Portside Swim Centre every Wednesday night from 7pm till 8pm. All Seniors, Boaties and Masters are welcome (Under 15 and above). Why not head down and get fit over the off season for the low cost of $4! See you there!
