The Members Draw jackpots again this week & is now worth $600. This week’s draw will be held at around 7.15pm on Thursday night. You can lock in Thursdays for the rest of the Nippers season as we are planning to continuing holding the draw on this night. Just a reminder, eligible members need to be present to win.
This Saturday evening February 23rd, we are holding a 60th Birthday party upstairs in the Bar/Bistro area from 7.00pm. The following Saturday March 2nd, we are hosting a Wedding Reception with access to the upstairs area being restricted for the day. The Members’ Wet Bar will be open immediately following Nippers Club Champs & we will also be holding a free BBQ after training for the hungry mouths!! There will also be a free raffle after the Club Run/Swim/Run. The canteen will run out of the Training Room before Nippers on the day.
We are planning to hold the Club’s Annual Awards Night on Saturday the 15th of June at the Clubrooms. The format of the evening will be returning to a Cocktail Party theme as it was until recent years. More information will be provided on this night as we get closer to the date. Please put this date in your diary.

Junior Carnival #3 Wrap-Up
Firstly a huge thank you to Port Elliot SLSC who were fantastically welcoming, allowing us to join them for Training on Saturday. It was an amazing example of true Surf Life Saving Culture – All Age Group Managers and Assistants working together to create a great shared experience for all the clubs that had pre-arranged to train. What a great experience for all our nippers to work together.
All in all we had a pretty successful carnival at Port Elliot with all our Age Groups seeing some bigger surf conditions both in Training and on Carnival Day, especially our older Nippers, which they handled really well.

R&R State Championships are this Saturday morning and the proposed schedule is shown below. Raelene has asked for all competitors to be on the Beach at 7am ready to compete.

March Past Training
From Saturday 23rd February a New Training Schedule will be put in place for March Past.
Team A from 11am Saturdays and Team B at 12pm.
Mandy is also seeking to have an extra training session with Team A which will be advised soon.

Semaphore Juniors Club Championships – 2nd Mar 2019
On this day instead of training, our age groups will be competing in our annual Junior Club Championships. Points will be awarded towards the end of season Age Group Championships and medals will be awarded to the Champion of each event in each Age Group.
On this day after training we will be having a BBQ, a free lottery of items purchased with a donated $250 Rebel Sports voucher as well as Age Group Event Champion Medal Presentations, down stairs so please hang around to celebrate all our junior event champions.

Semaphore Gold – 3rd March 2019 **Updated**
We are looking to re introduce ‘The Semaphore Gold’ endurance event previously run at the club. Starting this year with an internal event for Under 12 to Under 15 competitors with a view to a potential SLSSA Calendar date and invitation for all clubs in the future

Final carnival information will be sent to team managers on the Wednesday prior to each event.
All entries must be submitted in full via SEMS (ie all team members listed); team substitutions are permitted as per the Surf Sports manual provided that all competitors are on the master list. There will be NO additional entries on the day.

Coaches meeting at 12.45pm on grass in front of club
We train from 1-3pm, please let parents know to arrive 10min prior and look for age group flags on the grass in front of the clubrooms.
We have attached our training schedule and suggest adding body surfing to the swim station for some extra fun.
The bar will be open after training
There will be a sausage sizzle at the end of training too but we are unable to host a dinner as all hands will be busy getting ready for Sunday.

Water Cover
Thank you for those that have responded to providing water cover at Saturday’s training.
However no-one has offered to provide water cover at Sundays Carnival. As you know if we do not provide adequate water cover our nippers may not be able to compete at carnival.
Requirements Are: 1 Bronze and 1 SRC at any one time
As you know the more people we have the less time you need to spend on the water.
Officials
Looking for 1 extra offical for carnival please, again technically we can be kicked off the beach if we cannot provide.
Dinner Saturday Night – Royal Family Hotel – Port Elliot 9th Feb
Thank you for all those that have confirmed for dinner for on Saturday Night. Numbers have been confirmed with the Hotel.
We have a reserved area in the Beer Garden at the Royal Family Hotel – Port Elliot for Dinner which will be available from 6pm. Unfortunately the weather may be a bit cool so pack accordingly.
The proposed schedule for R&R State Championships is pictured below. Nominations are required by 10am 11 February, and R&R teams that have participated in Junior Carnivals over the season will be nominated. Please advise if you will not be able to compete given the released schedule.
