A huge thank you to all of our club members who volunteered their time at Westfield West Lakes wrapping presents!

Semaphore SLSC was given the opportunity to provide a wrapping service to the public for a whole day, $2 for small presents and $5 for large. Pretty papers, ribbons and bows made for many happy shoppers and lots of beautifully wrapped gifts.

All funds raised from today will be going into the Club.

Thanks once again to the ladies who wrapped their hearts out today; Katherine Brown, Jo Davey, Raelene Donnell, Sarah Hausler, Sarah Hutton, Kate Luke, Kerry McConnell, Kym Meers, Sue Murphy, Tracy Pentecost, Nerissa Sands, Roz Simpson and Ginnie Thompson. We appreciate you giving up your time!

Junior States Day 1 now Sunday 26th February

JUNIOR STATES DAY 1 has had a change of date!!!!!

Please note the change of date for the Junior State Championships Day 1, as it is now being held on Sunday February 26th, not the weekend before. The host club for this event is still our awesome Semaphore SLSC! The previous date clashed with a local council event being held at Pt Malcolm Reserve, this change of date also gives an additional week between the Pt Elliot Carnival and Junior States Day 1. Lock it in and we’ll see you there!

Junior Club Captains 2022/23!

Congratulations to Ky Bampton and Amelia Zappia!

Recently our U13 Nippers took part in the democratic process of selecting our Junior Club Captains for 2022/23 season. Poppy, Georgie and Amelia and Dylan, Joel and Ky all spoke in front of their peers and life members Raelene Donnell, Steve Weir and Paul Breden. All six of the U13 applicants spoke beautifully, each giving their reasons as to why they would make great leaders. Well done to all of the young members who applied for the roles, you all did an amazing job. The voting process resulted in both Ky and Amelia winning the positions!

Ky Bampton, a club member since he was a baby, and Amelia Zappia, a club member since she joined U7’s, are both hard working, resilient and help out with anyone that needs a hand. Both young members take on all the challenges that being a Nipper can present, competing in all carnival events and at State Titles, both medalling in a range of physical events and both in the technical March Past gold winning team and Ky in the R&R gold winning team.

.

Both Ky and Amelia love the ocean component of surf, are very strong swimmers and have represented their school and our club and medalled in many events. Ky’s favourite surf event is the iron person and Amelia’s is the swim.

.

They both look forward to representing the club as their best selves this season, being there for their peers, helping out younger Nippers in need and raising some money towards Ky’s idea of a club basketball ring.

.

Being patrolling members and Age Group Assistants with the younger Nippers is something they are both looking forward to next season!

.

Congratulations Ky and Amelia, you are outstanding young members of this great club and will go on to do great things!
