New Nipper Boards From West Lakes Rotary

Special thanks to our friends at West Lakes Rotary, their continuing support and generosity has seen us receive 2 new Fiberglass Bennett Nipper Boards valued at $2500 this support is over and above their sponsorship for the our Club Rotary Awards and ongoing volunteer support to our Club.

The boards look fantastic and will serve our Nippers well for many, many years to come.

West Lakes Rotary President Andrew De Garis and Representative Ken Purcell, who secured the grant, presented the boards to us on Saturday 29th January.

Friday 21st January
Board training. 4:45pm muster on the grass for a 5pm start. Proficiencies are a requirement to attend. 

Saturday 22nd January
9am – canteen open for breakfast with hot coffees available from the bar. The canteen will also be open before and after training.

11:45am – March Past training A team
12:00pm – March Past training all

1pm – Muster on the beach in front of your age group flag for a 1pm start.

Sunday 23rd January
Junior Carnival at Port Noarlunga SLSC cancelled.

Semaphore Silver Salties Starts on 2nd Feb 2022

After a short break for Christmas Semaphore SLSC’s Silver Salties sessions will continue from Wednesday Feb 2nd. If you are an older person in the community and would like to come and try then you are very welcome to join us.

The Silver Salties program at consists of gentle exercise focusing on strength and stability. For example walking, chair exercises or even a wade or swim in the ocean all done taking in to consideration the abilities of each of our participants and with suitable instruction/supervision.  Best of all, activities will be followed by some time for tea, coffee, and conversation.

  • Free
  • Friendly, Safe and Beneficial Physical Activity
  • A small time commitment
  • For all older Australians in the Community

Sessions are Wednesdays at 8:45 am at the club, ALL are welcome. So why not come down and check it out.

Muster on the beach in front of your age group flag for a 1pm start.
Sausage sizzle after training (gold coin donation), includes a Zooper Dooper for Nippers. The canteen will be open for light snacks before training from 10:30am. There will be no canteen available after training this week. The full canteen, including breakfasts, will resume from the 22nd January.

With the return of Nippers for 2022 the canteen will be open this week from 10:30am providing a selection of hot and cold tasty treats. Food will also be available after training.

For those who love their bacon and eggs, Gregg’s Breakfast Service will return from Saturday 22 January 2022

Nippers resumes this Saturday

Nippers kicks off again this Saturday, 8th January 2022.

Please muster on the beach at 12:45pm and make you way to your age group. Each age group will do an individual briefing this week rather than than the normal club-wide briefing.

Canteen and Bar Facilities will be available after training, the club will also be providing additional seating and shade in the driveway area (as per major events) allowing us to comply with current COVID capacity restrictions.

There is no board training on Friday 7th January 2022.

Member’s Draw on hold

Due to changes in South Australian COVID restrictions the Member’s Draw will be on hold until further notice. The draw will pick up where it left off ($750) once restrictions ease and it is safe to do so.

A limited menu is available at the bistro this Thursday (30 Dec) from 6pm to 8pm.
