We need you!

Season 2022/23 may be over but preparations for season 2023/24 are already underway! One of the most important things that happen first is the nomination and election of the Board of Management and other Club Officer Roles. Getting the right people to step up and nominate is crucial for the ongoing success of our club.

Do you think you might have something to offer that will benefit all? Is there an area of the club where you think you can help make a positive difference? It may seem daunting at first but if you ask anyone who has held one of these roles at the club before what the experience was like the answer would overwhelmingly be positive! There are plenty of people with past experience to help you grow into the role and you will have all the support and training that you might need to help you be successful.

If there is a role that you are interested in, email our Secretary, Alli, via secretary@semaphoreslsc.com.au and she can give you some more information about each role. Talking to current office holders about the role is also a great way to find out more and everyone is always happy to share their experiences.

The greatest asset our club has is its members and we can only grow and improve if people are willing to step up and give it a go. Have a think about how you could help and bravely step forward and put your hand up for what could be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life!

Make sure you come along to our AGM, Sunday June 25th 4pm. Our club draw will also be held that afternoon instead of the Thursday prior.

Colour run 12:45 – 2pm

Wear a plain white T-shirt and shorts that you’re ok with getting covered in colour and also bring your own empty sauce bottles for the colour fun. Some of the children ended up in the water last year so you may want to wear bathers underneath! A change of clothes for after may also be needed!

Easter weekend: Last patrol for the season!

Well, that’s another patrol season done and dusted! We will be patrolling the beach for the last time this season over the Easter Long Weekend.

Since the start of the season in October we have patrolled our beaches for 61 rostered days as well as a few extra for hot weather and water cover! We have, together, volunteered over 4700 hours of our free time to keep our nippers and the general public safe on the beach.

Well done and thank you to everyone who has contributed to make this another very successful patrol season. For the final time this season, here are the patrols for this weekend:

Good Friday             7/4/23 1200 – 1700: Lloydy Patrol

Easter Saturday       8/4/23 1200 – 1700: Freaky Patrol

Easter Sunday         9/4/23 1200 – 1700: Wickman Patrol

Easter Monday       10/4/23 1200 – 1700: Jones Patrol

Feel free to come along as an extra to any of these patrols over the weekend if you aren’t going away and as always, please let your captain know if you can’t make it.

Thanks again everyone, stay tuned for details in a week or two about a patrol end of season BBQ.

Have a safe Easter and see you on the beach!

Drewie
