Come and Try Pool Rescue

What is Pool Rescue? Pool Rescue is a series of different events conducted in the pool showcasing lifesaving skills which include swimming, towing and rope throwing to name a few. Some highlights from last year’s state champs can be found here which will include some senior/masters events also. Pool rescue builds confidence, teaches teamwork and is perfect for those who want to add an extra dimension to their swimming – and it is fun!

Surf House is encouraging Semaphore SLSC members to get involved in Pool Rescue and is looking to run Come and Try sessions for nippers (U11-U13) and seniors who might be interested in participating this season and would like to find out more.

Come and Try sessions will potentially be held on Wednesday 18th, Thursday 19th or Wednesday 25th May at the Parks Recreation Centre (depending on availability of those interested).

Pool rescue doesn’t have to be a huge commitment for Nippers, with the season being approximately being 6 weeks in total from the 1st Carnival to State Champs. Pool rescue carnivals and state champ dates for 2022 are listed as below and available on the calendar.

Carnival 1- Friday 27th May 2022
Carnival 2- Sunday 5th June 2022
Carnival 3- Friday 17th June 2022
State Champs- Saturday 2nd (U15-Open only) & Sunday 3rd July 2022
