*********************

Coaches meeting at 12.45pm on grass in front of club

We train from 1-3pm, please let parents know to arrive 10min prior and look for age group flags on the grass in front of the clubrooms.

We have attached our training schedule and suggest adding body surfing to the swim station for some extra fun.

The bar will be open after training

There will be a sausage sizzle at the end of training too but we are unable to host a dinner as all hands will be busy getting ready for Sunday.

**********************

Uniform Shop

Swim Caps, Skull Caps, Club Hats and Shirts will be available at Pt Elliot, should you require them. See Heather, Bec or Michelle or ask your Age Group Manager to point them in their general direction.

Water Cover

Thank you for those that have responded to providing water cover at Saturday’s training.

However no-one has offered to provide water cover at Sundays Carnival. As you know if we do not provide adequate water cover our nippers may not be able to compete at carnival.

Requirements Are: 1 Bronze and 1 SRC at any one time

Please send nominations to Paul Breden, patrols@semaphoreslsc.com.au

As you know the more people we have the less time you need to spend on the water.

BoM Update

The club’s Board of Management has commenced an update to the Club’s Strategic Plan. A facilitated session by an external Business Consultant (Voluntary) was held in early January & some terrific progress was made.

These sessions will continue over the coming month or so. BoM will keep members informed of progress during that time. As a starting point we have a suggested collective purpose of ‘Semaphore SLSC – Bringing people together’.

We look forward to involving you in this exciting new phase of the Club.

Bistro and Bar News

The Bistro is open for business this week with meals from 6pm Thursday and Friday. Come and enjoy a warm Semaphore evening on the balcony or step inside the Club under the airconditioning.

Function this week

We are hosting a 40th Birthday party this Saturday evening from 7pm.  Whilst there is no Nippers training due to the Long Weekend, the bar will still be open from 4pm to 6.30pm for those keen for a refreshment!!

The Member’s Draw is back!

The much loved & anticipated Members Draw is coming back!! We have slated Thursday the 7th of February as it’s return date, with an opening prize of $500. To coincide with this we are planning a Members Schnitzel night to help kick it off with a bang.  Please look out for next week’s Newsletter for further information.

Bar Prices Review

The BoM is currently reviewing our Bar Price schedule.  This is likely to result in a modest increase in prices of some items. We will also be looking to reintroduce a Happy Hour schedule at the same time to provide savings for members.   Our Strategic Planning review is also looking to address specific member benefit opportunities.

See you on the balcony!
