Congratulations to the Semaphore members who competed in the SA representative teams in Alexander Headland, Sunshine Coast, Qld last week.
Teagan Richards competed in the U19 Ocean/Beach Interstate Champs team that finished 5th, narrowly behind NSW Country in 4th, and comfortably ahead of Victoria in 6th.
The Youth Pathway Cup (U14/15) that included Tyler Richards, Luc Lindsay and Amy Buck, as well as Sean McKenzie as one of the coaches, finished an incredible 3rd!
Our Club would like to extend a very big thank you to long term club sponsor EZI-FIT who provided financial support for our representatives to attend the event.
Well done and congratulations to all of our athletes for their amazing efforts in tough conditions on the Sunshine Coast.
Stay tuned for more photos and individual results soon. Go SA!

Aussies, Sunshine Coast, April 16th to 24th, 2021.
If anyone is interested in staying at the Tropicana Holiday Resort, let Ailsa know via e-mail: nbisset@bigpond.net.au ASAP, as another club shown interest and the manager will be making remaining rooms available to them.
This weekend Semaphore SLSC will be raising money to help Mallacoota SLSC which lost everything in the recent East Gippsland fires. The community based volunteer run Club keeps the beaches safe during the busy summer months. All that is left now though is a smouldering mess. Mallacoota itself was devastated, losing 1 in 4 houses within the town so the effects have been widespread.
This Saturday after training the Frazer-Sikorski family will be hosting a fundraiser to help the Mallacoota SLSC purchase a new van and equipment. There will be a soft drink/ice-cream stand, lolly bags, “guess the amount of lollies in a jar” competition and a small raffle. All funds raised will go directly to the Mallacoota SLSC to help it rebuild.
This has directly impacted Frazer-Sikorski family as Kirsty grew up in Mallacoota with her family still living there. Thankfully all of their properties survived the fires and they patiently await the roads to open so they can go back and support their community.
The Seacliff SLSC will be doing something similar on Feb 22nd as some of the members there are also from Mallacoota. Unfortunately they and their families were not so fortunate and lost everything.
Everyone has been so generous supporting fundraising efforts to date. Kirsty, Adam, Jack, Connor, Robyn and John thank you in advance for your support.
Congratulations to the Members of Semaphore SLSC who raised $1900 last weekend for the CFS Foundation. The Club felt strongly about supporting Surf Lifesaving SA’s Statewide initiative, given the devastation caused by bushfires in the past few weeks. Members have certainly shown their solidarity.
The funds were raised as follows:
$1,012 donated by the Club, as a percentage of Friday bistro takings.
$248 from the Saturday juniors sausage sizzle.
$640 donated by members through the donation tins.
Our thoughts remain with those volunteers and their communities who will continue to recover from the fires for some time to come. Please remember to visit affected areas in the future and spend money in local businesses.
