Congratulations to our award winners and finalists at this year’s Surf Life Saving SA Excellence Awards.

Semaphore’s R&R team picked up the State Youth R&R Perpetual Trophy for the 2018-2019 season.

Congratulations to Teagan Richards who was named U/15 Female Champion of the Year. We continue to be very proud of how you represent our Club!

Finally, a massive congratulations to our very own Sean McKenzie for being named Coach of the Year. We are very proud indeed! Well deserved.

Can Bar open this Saturday

Please note the upstairs bar is unavailable this Saturday, 24th August, due to a function.

The Can Bar will be open downstairs (training room) from 4:30pm, as per usual opening hours.

A limited selection of beer and house wines will be available for $5 per glass.

It’s going to be a fierce night of competition! Get your tickets to the Semaphore SLSC Quiz Night Saturday the 2nd of November. Quiz , raffle, silent auction and other games to be held on the night. Tables of 10, drinks over the bar, BYO nibbles. Quiz to start at 7pm, bar open from 3pm. Get your tickets before tables sell out!

Callout for Quiz Night Donations

The club has some fantastic fundraising activities coming up. There’s the Quiz night Nov 2nd, the Semaphore St Fair Nov 24th and the Xmas Stocking Raffle.

We need your help to make these events a success. We are asking for any donations to fill the silent auction table at the Quiz night, stuff the stocking, and general prizes for upcoming Club events.

So, if you are a local business that could donate time, a bottle or two of wine (always popular with our punters), a wheel barrow or even a hair cut, we would greatly appreciate it.

Some examples of things donated in the past:

  • 2 night stay at Carrickalinga
  • Hair cuts
  • Rounds of golf
  • Bottles of Wine
  • Sky Diving
  • Tradesmen Hours, electrician and plumber
  • Yoga/Pilates Classes
  • Physiotherapy

Connor represents us well at Nationals

Connor Tunbridge has done the Club proud after competing at the National Pool Championships for South Australia on the Gold Coast over the weekend.

Connor represented Semaphore well, achieving personal best (PB) times in a number of events. Despite his age he competed in the Open Men’s category against some serious competition.

He took more than a second off his 50m fins swim! Fantastic effort Connor. We are so proud of you!

First Aid Course for new Bronzies

If you are part of the Bronze group that’s being assessed on October 19th, you’ll need to ensure you have completed a First Aid course prior to this.

Surf Life Saving SA is running a one day First Aid course on October 9th during the school holidays. You’ll need to get in quick though, as the course is likely to fill up fast.
