March Past Training – Team A only 9am
Nipper Surf Training – **Saturday 9:45am** (due to heat)

Any last minute alterations to this schedule will be communicated via Surfguard SMS. Please ensure that your mobile number is correct on you child’s members portal account.

Team A – Extra March Past Training

Mandy would like to hold an extra March Past training for Team A on Fri 15th March at 6pm after board training.

Semaphore Juniors Club Championships – 2nd Mar 2019

***NEW START TIME*** 9:45am due to Heat

As the predicted temp for Saturday at Semaphore South is 38 we have decided to move Nipper Training/Club Championships to earlier in the Day. At this stage we will muster at 9:45am with training/champs to follow at 10am, ending at 12pm.

In addition a call will be made on Flags and Sprints on the day as to wether they will go ahead or if they will be delayed to the following week.

Also our wet bar may be moved to the Training room for greater comfort.

On this day instead of training, our age groups will be competing in our annual Junior Club Championships. Points will be awarded towards the end of season Age Group Championships and medals will be awarded to the Champion of each event in each Age Group.

After training we will be having a BBQ, a free lottery of items purchased with a donated $250 Rebel Sports voucher as well as Age Group Event Champion Medal Presentations, down stairs in our Wet Bar area so please hang around to celebrate all our Junior Event Champions.

Semaphore Gold – 3rd Mar

Nominations are now closed for Semaphore Gold and the final details of the event will be communicated by Saturday March 2nd.

We have not received any nominations for parent helpers for this event. If no nominations are received by end of training Saturday then the event will be cancelled.  Parent assistance is required to man 3 – 4 water/refreshment stations.

This is for the benefit of all the competitors.  

Depending on temperatures course may be modified to keep the competitors closer to the club for safety.

Day 2 & 3 of Junior State Championships 23rd & 24th March

Below are the proposed events for Day 2 and 3 of Junior State Champs nominations will be required on 16th March 2019

Junior Calendar

Things are ramping up for the last half of our season, and there’s lots of things happening so keep an eye on the calendar to keep upto date.

Proposed Layout plans for Memorabilia are now on display at the Club. This is an important feature of the Club and feedback is most welcome.

The 2019 SA Lifesaving Events State Championships consists of events such as R&R, Champion Lifesaver and Champion Patrol.

R & R

Semaphore Juniors are proud of its history in supporting this event across the entire season carnival season. This year was no different with four Under 11 teams, and nine Under 13 teams entered in 2 Person and two Under 13 teams entered in 5 Person.

Additionally from our Youth group we had one Under 15 team entered in 2 Person and one Under 15 Team (composite with West Beach) in 5 Person.

U11 2 Person R&R

Bronze Medal – Eliza Zampatti and Ava Griffin

U13 2 Person R&R

Gold Medal – Erin Tunbridge and Lilija Zampatti

Bronze Medal – Amy Buck and Holly Clarke

U13 5 Person R&R

Silver Medal – Alex Breden, Amy Buck, Lilija Zampatti, Erin Dixon, and Jackson Clee

Bronze Medal – Sam Jarvis, Tylor Richards, Jake Andrews, Tom Short, and Aiden Hall.

U15 2 Person R&R

Gold Medal – Ella Andrews and Teagan Richards

U15 5 Person R&R

Gold Medal – Sarah Edwards, Ella Andrews, Teagan Richards

Champion Lifesaver

We had three entrants to Champion Lifesaver this year all finding success in their respective categories.

Under 14 Womens – Clarice Clee **Silver Medal**

Under 17 Mens – Cooper Clee ** Silver Medal**

Under 15 Womens – Ella Andrews **Gold Medal**

Ella’s (pictured left below) Gold Medal allows her to enter this competition at the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships in Queensland in April. We wish her luck with all her endeavours at Aussies.
