Nearly time for Nippers!

As the Winter sports wind up, we encourage you to consider Nippers as a wonderful Summer sport for your little ones.  It’s a whole family experience with afternoons on the beach and fun times socialising at the Club into the evening.

There are many opportunities for parents to be involved too.  Many former Nippers parents continue to patrol our beaches today!  A great way for the entire family to stay fit and healthy.

A registration day and details of membership fees will be announced very soon.

Keep your eye on our posts for more news!  We can’t wait to see you all on the beautiful beach of Semaphore!!

Calling volunteers and Cupcake makers for local Cross Country Carnival!

On Tuesday September 12, for the fifth year running, we will be providing food and drinks for competitors and supporters at the Port District SAPSASA Cross Country carnival.

It’s a wonderful local event for our kids and we need helpers to make the day a success.

Volunteers to help with cooking and serving the BBQ for as little or as long as you can assist. Runs approx 9 – 12.30.

Also any budding MasterChef cupcake makers out there who can supply some cupcakes to sell for $1 each would be appreciated.

We had over 200 cupcakes donated last year and we sold out!

Contact Trudy on 0408 824 789 or Brad on 0412 073 688 if you are able to assist.

Building Update and Call for Storage Space!

Those members who were around the club on the weekend would have noticed the roof sheeting is now on and the roller doors installed.  We have been advised that the Rescue Ready Facility is close to complete with a hand over expected from the builder on Wednesday 6th September.  Once this has occurred the club will take delivery of an ATV and Jetski which is part of the Commonwealth Grant funding we received for the facility.

The redevelopment of the clubrooms also takes a big step forward this week with a notice being placed in Tuesday’s Advertiser seeking expressions of interest from builders interested in tendering for the $1.8m project.  Click here to view the Builders Brief.  The project is currently on budget and on time with an expected commencement in early 2018 and a completion in late September 2018.

Meantime the Club is looking for space to store furniture, equipment and other items from the clubrooms while the building project is undertaken (February – September).  If anyone has some commercial/industrial space available, or knows someone that has please let Mick Kenny(0498492409) or Pat Hansen (0422007413) know.
