States – Day 1

Congratulations to everyone who competed in Day 1 of State Champs at Aldinga on the weekend.

Day 1 focused on Board Rescue and R&R (2 person and 5 person). It was a long day but the kids were fantastic, waiting patiently, supporting each other and giving each event 100%.

Two of our Under 10/11 person R&R teams made the final just missing our on medals with our Under 12/13 team just missing out on a place in the final. A highlight of the day was a group of Under 12/13 boys who took out 1st place in 5 person R&R. Competition was tight with the three medalling teams equal on points, with places decided on a count back. Congratulations to Thao, Ky, Samuel, Joel and Oliver. A big thanks and congratulations to Raelene and John.

Special recognition to Dylan W who also trained as part of the group. Dylan filled in for West Beach who were short a member, with the team taking home the silver medal in the final.
