Fundraising

If you, or you know of anyone/company that can donate either gift vouchers, goods or services to be donated as auction items or prizes in raffles, please direct them to Mick Jarvis, e:corporate@semaphoreslsc.com.au.

All donations will go towards raising vital funds for the junior and senior programs. It is also a great way to promote your company and add a bit of excitement and fun to our events.

Thanks for your support.

Club opening hours this week

A huge thank you to all our amazing volunteers

This year we had nearly 400 donations for our cross country cake stall and we sold out of all the beautiful and tasty treats.

Thanks to the expert baking skills of Gill, Heather C, Heather A, Michelle, Tina, Hickman Children, Jo, Clee Clan, Tina, Brenton, Trudy, Tracy, Wardy, Dogsy & Carol and Megan, Tunny’s Mum.

Our experienced BBQ cooks LLoydy and Wazyl kicked off the cooking with support from Dogsy, Trevor, Freakie, Todd, Jeff and Brad.

All the kids enjoyed themselves and kept Trudy, Michelle, Tracey and Heather very busy dishing up cakes, snags and cold drinks.

With all the efforts and helpers to keep things going we had a great day selling out of all our stock, raising ……

$1083 and 10 cents for the Surf Club.

Extra special thanks to Brad & Trudy Tunbridge who organised everyone.

Well done and Congratulations to all involved.

Red Black & White is Dynamite!

A big thanks to more of our fantastic helpers

Thank you to those who helped fix ~20 nipper boards on the weekend.

The boards are now ready to go for the upcoming season.

A call to arms for all that want to row surf boats

Calling all boaties and anyone interested in being part of the most exciting aspect of Surf Life Saving competitions.

We are holding a meeting this Sunday, 24 September at 4:30pm for those interested in rowing surf boats.

It has been two years since we have had a competitive boat crew on the water and we think it is time that Semaphore struck again and gave it a good shot.

I have been speaking with many people around the club and they are interested, so the time has come to get together and have a chat about what we can do.

This meeting is open to all members that want to row boats – female, male young and old.

I look forward to seeing all of you on Sunday.

Working bee – calling for volunteers

We are holding a working bee this Saturday (14th September) from 8am, to repair ~20 club boards and get ready for the upcoming season.

All welcome. No previous experience required.

If you can spare and hour or two please join us at the club and help give our kids the best equipment we can for the start of the season.

Patrol members needed for this year’s City to Bay

Westpac, partners of SLSA, are once again supporting this year’s City to Bay and are looking for volunteers to assist with providing basic first-aid.

If you have some free time between 8am to 12:00pm this Sunday, 15th September, and would like to take part, please call Andrew Edwards on 0409 692 522.

Volunteers will be helping out in Westpac’s “Red Zone,” at the end of the race route in Colley Reserve, Glenelg. First aiders will be required to wear patrol uniforms to enter the “Red Zone” and will be asked to wander around the zone and offer assistance were needed. Volunteers can access free food and drinks in the zone and are able to officially log patrol hours.

Feel free to assist for as little or as long as you like.

Calling volunteers and cupcake makers for the local cross country carnival!

On Tuesday September 17, for the seventh year running, we will be providing food and drinks for competitors and supporters at the Port District SAPSASA Cross Country carnival.

It’s a wonderful local event for our kids and we need helpers to make the day a success.

We are calling for volunteers to help with cooking and serving the BBQ for as little or as long as you can assist. Runs approx 8:30am – 1:30pm.

Also any budding MasterChef cupcake makers out there who can supply some cupcakes to sell for $1 each would be appreciated. We had over 200 cupcakes donated last year and we sold out!

Please contact Trudy on 0408 824 789 or Brad on 0412 073 688 if you are able to assist.

End of Season Footy Tipping Results

Last Sunday at the Club saw the wrap up of the 2019 Footy Tipping Competition with some surprising results. The hidden rounds really made a difference this year as everyone was expecting Wanga Robbins to take out the big prize, but that wasn’t the case.
