Patrols

We are into the second to last week for patrols, with the Easter Long Weekend being our last.

If there are any patrol members available to help out on any day of the long weekend it would be greatly appreciated as some people will be away. Easter Sunday is already looking a little light on numbers.

Details of our Patrol End of Season Break Up to follow once details are finalised.

Thanks everyone for your patrol efforts and please stay safe and enjoy your last patrols of the season.

Support for our extended surf family

Last week a Nipper parent from Christies Beach SLSC passed leaving her beautiful son and Nipper, Finn aged 7, an orphan. Finn is alone in Australia and in the care of friends. Christies is seeking gold coin donations (or EFTPOS if preferred) during Masters Competition weekend to support Finn’s future.

A Go Fund Me page has also been set up to support Finn, called Finn’s future.

Donations over $2 made via the club will be tax deductible.

At this time we ask you to support your extended Surf Family.

A great end to training for 2020/21

Juniors and seniors joined together Friday night for the final board training for 2020/21.

Crystal clear waters, a beautiful autumn night and all age groups training together made for a fantastic session.

Thanks everyone for such a great season and good luck to those competing next week at the State Titles.

We look forward to seeing everyone back in October!

Canteen – final week

This is the last week the canteen will be open this season.

All the usual delicious menu items will be available as well as a few specials. Coffee and hot chocolate also available.

Open Saturday from 9am to 4:30pm.

International Women’s Day

During the Monday “Jones” Patrol – we invited female members of the Club and from the community to come and try some different aspects of Patrol.
This included doing a swim around the cans.  One woman who came down had only ever been out in the water to her knees and completed the swim with Tina.

They had a go on the rescue boards, as well as having the experience of having a ride on the back of the Jetski and in the IRB.

One notable experience was Life Member Raelene Donnell doing things she hadn’t done before like jumping in the IRB and going for a ride on the back of the Jetski!!  The theme for IWD was “Challenge Yourself” and all women that took part did.

We also had a High Tea, which was mainly put together by Tina and Meagan McDonald, Rhys helped out as well.
