Don’t forget Boardies Day this Friday.

Show your support for the amazing efforts of volunteer surf lifesavers by wearing your boardies in the classroom and board room on 12th February for #BoardiesDaySA

All funds raised through Boardies Day will help save lives on South Australian beaches.

Please encourage your workplaces to get involved.

New lifesaving equipment to be unveiled at Semaphore

In a state-first, Surf Lifesaving SA will unveil new lifesaving equipment at Semaphore tomorrow (Monday 8th February). The new equipment will be featured in a mock rescue to be carried out using Surf Life Saving SA’s Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter. The rescue will follow a media conference on the grass at Port Malcolm Reserve and will also feature surf jet-skis and other rescue assets.

The media event will be covered by a number of television networks so keep an eye on the news tomorrow night.

Tomorrow’s activities coincide with SLSSA’s Boardies Day fundraiser on 12th February which will help to ensure Surf Life Saving SA’s Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter remains in the sky.

Clubbies are more than welcome to attend as spectators but no formal support is required.

Thanks to our guest speaker

The older age groups of the Nipper program were also fortunate enough to hear from a special guest speaker, Nic Thompson.

The nippers were able to hear about Nic’s courageous story of his involvement with a rescue of a shark attack victim and how the skills he learnt from his surf lifesaving training helped him on the day.

The club really appreciates Nic’s courage to come and speak openly about his experience and thanks to Kenny Tunny for organizing the talk.
