R&R, Belt Race & Rescue-Tube-Rescue State Champs

Yes States Season is already here kicking off with R&R, Belt Race & Rescue-Tube-Rescue State Championships this Saturday from 7:30am at Pt Noarlunga SLSC.

For all our Senior, Youth and Junior Competitors we wish you luck in your respective competitions. Semaphore have a long and successful history in this little practiced but esteemed part Surf Life Saving Competition (R&R) and it is something that all our Juniors U10 to U17 should consider participating in.

Please find a schedule of events below so that you can plan to arrive early, As a Club we would love to see as many competitors there to cheer on our U15 – 5 person team who will compete at around 8:45am.

We are hoping to take a full team photo of all R&R Participants with our wonderful coach at approx 9:20ish .

Canteen open for breakfast from 9am

Delicious scrambled tofu (vegan) is now available from 9am as part of the regular brekkie menu, as well as regular favourites such as the Big Sema4 Brekkie ($9 members, $12 non-members). Enjoy breakfast and a hot coffee over looking the beach this Saturday, 9am to 11am. Click here to view the full brekkie menu for members and non-members.

From 11am to 1pm enjoy the Nippers Canteen menu.

The after training menu starts from 2pm. Fried rice (vegetarian option available) and chicken schnitzel rolls are now available each week.

Uniform shop closed this weekend

The uniform shop will be closed this Saturday (27th February) due to RnR State Titles. The shop will be open between 5pm and 6pm this Friday night (26th February) for any purchases.

Bronze Medallion Course

North Haven SLSC are running a Bronze training course in March and have asked if we have any members interested in taking part in the program.  To be eligible to enrol in the course you must be an active member, (not social or community) aged at least 15 at the time of your assessment and able to complete a timed 400 metre pool swim in under 9 minutes.  Details of the course structure are as follows:

Friday 12th March (5-8 pm) – Site induction, Membership registration, Surf Lifesaving Organisation.

Saturday 13th March (9am – noon) – Online Learning modules, beach swim, surf lifesaving equipment

Friday 19th March (5-8 pm) – First Aid Theory

Saturday 20th March (9am – noon) – Rescue techniques, Spinal Care, Lifting Techniques

Sunday 21st March (9am – noon) – CPR Training

Friday 26th March (5-8 pm) Candidates will train for and be assessed on their resuscitation.

Saturday 27th March (9am – noon) – preliminary assessment under assessment conditions (conducted internally)

Final assessment will take place on Saturday 10th April (externally assessed)
