Semaphore Gold 2021 – Saturday morning 10th April

Thanks to all those who have expressed an interest in competing in the Semaphore Gold this coming Saturday morning (10th of April). So far, we have at least 30 entrants, with roughly equal numbers across seniors and juniors. It’s not too late to get on-board, just let Brenton Zampatti know prior to Saturday. The event will incorporate a distance run, board paddle and swim, and is open to senior club members and proficient U11-13 juniors (modified course). Please see here for maps of the junior and senior courses. Note that the sequence of stages and/or direction of each stage may be modified given prevailing winds and the tide on the day. We’ll make sure that competitors are clearly informed of the final course during marshalling.

The event will kick-off at 8.30 am sharp but we’ll need boards at the club by 7.45 am, at the latest. Boards will be put on a trailer and transported to the run-board transition area. If you are using a club board you will still need to have it ready for transport by 7.45 am. We will have drink stations at the run-board transition area (for both age groups) and at the end of the board leg.

Thanks to those parents who have already put their hand up to help out. We are also fortunate to have the IRB and two jet ski available for water cover (thanks Drewie and Wanga) but we also need at least 3 people to provide water cover for the swim leg. If you are available for water cover, or you have any any questions about the event, please contact Brenton Zampatti on 0427 604 156.

Looking forward to seeing everyone for what should a great season’s finale.

Thanks

BZ and Biggsy

Nipper presentations this Saturday

Don’t forget Nipper presentations are this Saturday (10 April). A few key points:

12:30pm start. BBQ lunch followed by presentations.

Can all Nippers please return coloured skull caps to Age Group Managers on the day.

Although it has been a traditional of the Club, in the best interests of the environment the Board of Management has decided that there will be no shaving cream fight at this Saturday’s Junior Presentations. We ask that you respect and comply with this decision.

We are looking for volunteers to help on the day with setup and packup. If you are available, it would be great if you could come down a little bit early or stay for a bit at the end and help out.

We look forward to seeing you all on Saturday and celebrating a fantastic 2020/21 Season.
