Juniors Weekly Report

Hi Everyone

We are pleased to announce that our new boards have arrived courtesy of our sponsorship with Westfield Westlakes. Ten new boards have been delivered and will be available for carnival use for the Under 9’s and Under 10’s. We will give the kids an opportunity to use them prior to the first carnival on November 20th. Congratulations to those who completed part of their proficiencies last weekend and we hope to cover more off this weekend, as a reminder each participant must complete to proficiency swims on two different days.

 

This week:-

Wednesday 2/11 – Junior Pool Swimming

Largs Bay Swim Centre Victoria Road Largs Bay 7-8pm Cost $4.00 This is open to proficient members from last season.

This will include new members and Under 9’s once they complete their proficiency assessment. A reminder a parent must be present whilst your child swims

 

Friday 4/11 – Junior Board Training

Board Training for Under 10- 13 4.45pm-6.00pm at the club. This is open to proficient members from last season.

This will include new members and Under 9’s once they complete their proficiency assessment. A reminder a parent must be present whilst your child trains

 

Saturday 5/11 – Junior Training

March Past Training starts at 12 noon

Start 12.45 pm on the lawn, for come and try please ensure you register upstairs and receive you top and cap prior to training commencing.

At the conclusion of training we will be having a BBQ and we need some assistance from the Under 8 parents with the BBQ.

We will again be raffling a meat tray and a Westfield voucher so please buy a ticket if you can.

Sunday 13 November – Making Ginger Bread People

Saturday 19 November  – Being Part of our Float at the Port Pageant

Sunday 20 November  – First Junior Carnival Somerton – Dinner and presentation back at the club after the carnival

 

As a result of the new boards arriving we will have a small number of second hand foam boards for sale on a first come basis on Saturday morning.

With our new boards now at the club please do not store personal boards at the club as the racks available are for club craft only, personal craft are not covered by the club insurance so any loss or damage to craft is not covered by the club.

Time to bake up a storm for our Cake Stall Fundraiser!

The Semaphore Surf Lifesaving Club is hosting cake stall fundraisers at the Woodville Bunnings Store on the following dates:

  • Sunday 30th October 2017
  • Sunday 4th December 2017

We are seeking help from any member to bake some cakes, slices and biscuits for the stall.  Please no goods that contain ingredients that require refrigeration e.g. cream.

We are also able to sell jams and preserves if that is preferable.

If you could assist, please bring your goodies upstairs to the club on the Saturday beforehand (a list of ingredients is needed for the label which we are required for food safety requirements).

quiz night

Social Quiz Night

The Semaphore Surf Life Saving Club is glad to welcome back a Quiz Night! Start prepping your brain, and save the date of the 3rd of September. Tickets are $10 (plus a 30 cent booking fee), 10 people per table. Get in quick tickets are limited! Have some fun and give your table a team name and theme. Best theme and name will win a prize on the night!

BYO Nibbles/snacks, the Bar will be open for purchase of alcohol and beverages.

Fun side games will be held throughout the night and will require a gold coin donation to play each game. So bring along your pocket change (but only the gold stuff)

ASRL SA dinner

ASRL-SA Presentation Night

 

Remember the ASRL-SA presentation night is on 21 May at our Club. Aiming for maximum participation from our Club. Doesn’t matter if your not a boatie – great way to meet members of the other clubs

 

SA Annual Cocktail Dinner “Team Navy” at Semaphore Surf Lifesaving Club Saturday 21st May 2016 from 7pm for7.30pm start until 12am.

 

The $80 Cocktail Food and Beverage Package includes a wonderful selection of Finger Food created by our Executive Chef and his team and will be served throughout the night. The drinks package will be from 7 to 11pm  and includes Beer, Sparkling, White Wine, Cider, Juice and Soft Drinks.

 

Dress is Cocktail or for the more adventurous, navy theme.

Mothers Day Breakfast

We would love to see you for Mother’s Day Breakfast this Sunday 8th May from 8:30am til 11am! We have plenty of inside seating as well as on our undercover balcony. All mum’s receive a free glass of bubbles! Booking’s are Essential! Please call 84498088 to make a booking!!!

 

Please also note that this will be our last Breakfast before our Breakfasts go on a winter break.

Easter Trading Hours

Please be advised our trading hours over the Easter period are as follows

Thursday Schnitzel night as normal- bar and food from 6pm

Good Friday- closed

Saturday- Bar as normal 3pm

Sunday Breakfast only from 8:30am-11am. Bookings are essential!

 

Breakfasts will continue as normal with Mothers Day being the last one before a winter break.
