There are many roles to play within our Club.  As it is run by volunteers we are asking our members to consider supporting by taking up an official role.  We appreciate many people are time poor but it’s important that we all pitch in in some way.

 

Meantime the slab has been poured for our new Rescue Facility. It’s anticipated the official opening will occur on the season’s first day in October. Construction completion expected in less than 10 weeks.

Club Construction well underway!

The construction of the Rescue Facility is now well underway with the concrete footings in.  The concrete slab is expected to be poured as early as Monday. Water and Electricity is also hooked up.

It’s anticipated the official opening will occur on the season’s first day in October.  Construction completion expected in less than 10 weeks.

You can check it out for yourself when you head to the AGM this Sunday 23rd July at 4pm.  Be sure to come along and have your say.  It’s your Club and you are a part of its exciting future!

Come and enjoy the Club atmosphere today with Happy Hour between 5pm and 6pm.  While you’re at it catch the AFL clash between Port and West Coast.  The match kicks off at 4.10pm.  Happy Sunday everyone!

 

4 members announced in Surf Sport Youth Performance Academy Program

The Surf Sport Youth Performance Academy Program has been developed to help develop and grow youth athletes in SA.

The Academy now primarily focuses on Athletes from the following age categories, Under 14, Under 15 and first year Under 17. The content delivered by both Flinders University and Surf Life Saving SA through this process is tailored to the new age groups and we will be encouraging coaches and to participate in the sessions. Surf Life Saving SA are extremely excited to announce the four coaches/mentors that will deliver the ocean/beach sessions and also assist with forming the final structure of the Academy. These Coaches/mentors have been recognised for their ongoing commitment to Surf Sports in SA.

Casual RP Badged Bar Position

IRB Crew Course

What better way to get some good use out of your wetsuit than completing your IRB crew certificate this winter. Neil Bissett will be running a crew course on the weekends in July with the exam early August. People must me current financial members, be at least 15 years of age with their bronze medallion as pre-requisites. Members with their crew certificate will be required to help out on patrol and water cover as required during the season.

An information night will be held at the Club Thursday Night 22nd June at 6pm for all interested parties to formally register , if you are unable to attend but would like to complete this Course please text Neil B 0417-478-512 for further course information.

  • Please meet at kayaking at 4:30 or as close to as possible. Unfortunately, I cannot make this session any later since we will be working in with the kayaking club. More sessions will be introduced ASAP
  • Sunday training will change often depending on weather and availability.
  • If you require a club board please meet at the club at 4:45pm, if you have a board at home please meet at the location at 5:15 ready for a 5:30pm start. If you can not make it to the club at 4:45 but still want to train, please let Sean McKenzie know (0428953000) and a board can be loaded for you.
  • Please be aware some training’s may be cancelled or postponed due to weather.
  • Everyone will be required to be wearing high visibility tops and lights on their boards
  • The most up to date information about location or cancelling of training’s will be posted in the senior competition Facebook group.
